तेरा चेहरा चाँद की रौशनी सा है
जिसे देखूँ तो हर ग़म भुला दूँ मैं

तेरी आँखों में बसे ख्वाब मेरे हैं,
जिन्हें देखूँ तो जागता रहूँ मैं।

तेरे लबों पे जो मुस्कान ठहरी है,
वो मेरी हर मुश्किल आसान कर दे।

तेरे साए में जो सुकून मिलता है,
वो मेरी रूह को शाद कर दे।

Transliteration of the Poetry

tera chehra chaand ki roshni sa hai
jise dekhoon to har gham bhula doon main

teri aankhon mein base khwaab mere hain,
jinhen dekhoon to jaagta rahoon main

tere labon pe jo muskaan thehri hai,
woh meri har mushkil aasaan kar de

tere saaye mein jo sukoon milta hai,
woh meri rooh ko shaad kar de

Your face is like the moon’s own light,
one look at it, and every sorrow fades away.

In your eyes live the dreams that are mine;
when I behold them, sleep deserts me.

The smile that rests upon your lips
turns each of my hardships into ease.

The peace I find beneath your shadow
fills my soul with quiet joy.
